Chapel
Whether by design or by circumstance, the Chapel is physically open to the school hall and a major thoroughfare. In many ways, this symbolises the fact that it is open to people of all faiths and of none.
We gather together for a daily act of worship, which also provides the school community with a meeting place and a start to the working day. Our simple act of worship always includes a hymn, reading and prayer, as well as a homily offering a thought for the day applicable to the whole community delivered both by staff and by boys.
On Saturdays, we celebrate our weekly service and welcome families and friends to share this with us. As a school, we are proud of our strong choral tradition and our four-part First Choir, comprised of boys, staff and parents, adds a different spiritual dimension to our worship. We frequently welcome visiting preachers at these services, drawn from many senior schools. Boys take an active part in all our worship and we are known for our enthusiastic congregational singing!
