Welcome to Bunbury! Our brand-new Year 7 Common Room is officially complete and ready for the boys to enjoy! Named Bunbury in honour of the wonderful Bunbury family, they may have now collectively fled the Papplewick nest, but their name very much lives on! The new space gives Year 7 somewhere of their own to relax and unwind in the evenings whether that's playing pool, getting competitive over a board game, catching up with friends or settling down to watch a movie or two. A fantastic new addition to boarding life at Papplewick and a space we're sure will get plenty of use over the years to come! Mums vs Sons – Football Week Continues! Another fantastic afternoon of football at Papplewick as our U7 and U8 boys took on their mums! We had an amazing turnout, with enough mums to make three full squads and there was plenty of skill, determination and laughter on display from both sides. The boys narrowly came away with an 18–11 victory, but the afternoon was far more about taking part, having fun and enjoying some friendly family competition! The mums joined the boys for lunch beforehand, before heading out onto the pitch, and the afternoon finished with a well-earned cup of tea with the Head. A brilliant afternoon and another lovely example of the Papplewick community coming together during Football Week. Thank you to all the mums who got stuck in and made it such a special occasion! Year 4 Step Back in Time at Butser Ancient Farm! Our Year 4 boys enjoyed a fantastic trip to Butser Ancient Farm, bringing their history lessons to life as they discovered what life was like thousands of years ago! The boys explored ancient roundhouses, tried their hand at an archaeological dig, and got creative making their own mosaics. They also discovered more about how people lived and worked in the past, getting a real hands-on taste of ancient life. It was a brilliant day of history beyond the classroom, with plenty of curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm on show and, most importantly, the boys had a fantastic time! Staff vs Dads – Football Week Kicks Off in Style! What a brilliant evening at Papplewick as our Staff and Dads took to the pitch to kick off Football Week! It was fantastic to see so many dads getting involved, with both teams showing some wonderful footballing skills and playing in tremendous spirit. After a hugely entertaining match, the Staff came away 5–1 victors! With a brilliant crowd cheering from the sidelines and the boys invading the pitch to celebrate the goals, the atmosphere was absolutely electric! More importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity to bring the whole Papplewick community together for an evening of football, laughter and great fun. A huge thank you to everyone who played, supported and helped organise such a memorable occasion. We imagine there are a few sore bodies this morning!
